This site contains all the information you will need to understand the processes, deadlines, categories and entry requirements to participate in the most prestigious awards for the Queensland development industry.

Message from the chair

The time has come once again. It is time for you to reflect on your proudest accomplishments - from the inception of the vision, overcoming the challenges, reaching the milestones, through to completion. It is time for the Queensland development industry to celebrate the developments that are paving the way for the state.

Our industry is no longer riding on the wave of a booming economy, yet we still have the responsibility of meeting the needs of a growing population. Every year, thousands of people are choosing to reside in Queensland and reap the benefits of quality housing, modern workplaces and assorted leisure facilities - and our members are delivering on this. We have seen Queensland transformed into a region that rivals the rest of the country.

Rewarding this exceptional work is one of the driving forces behind the UDIA. Previous winners have received immense benefits from being aligned with the awards, including a greater recognition amongst peers and stakeholders and an increase in business opportunities. The results can be as tangible as an influx of sales.

If the standard of last year’s winners is anything to go by, it’s going to be a highly competitive 2009 program. The Awards judges will continue to look for those projects that meet the standards of superiority and innovation in their respected fields.

Again, we look forward to hearing the finalists and winners of the 15 categories announced at an exciting presentation ceremony and gala dinner. The theme of the 2009 Awards ceremony will be unveiled in time, but I assure you, it will be an entrancing night with entertainment that will wow you!
I encourage all members to enter projects that have set new benchmarks for our industry and to share the achievements with every team member that played a part in changing the history of our landscape.
